EBT Unlock Key – 1 License for Bosch Gen1–Gen4

The EBT Unlock Key is a browser-based unlocking solution for many compatible Bosch Gen1, Gen2, Gen3 and Gen4 e-bikes on BES1 / BES2. It allows you to remove the factory 25 km/h speed limit permanently – without software installation, without a dongle, without motor disassembly and without any additional tuning hardware.
This licence is intended for one compatible Bosch e-bike. It is the correct solution for many Bosch Gen1 BES1 and Gen2 / Gen3 / Gen4 BES2 systems, but it is not compatible with Bosch Gen1 bikes using the HMI display, ABS-equipped bikes or Bosch Smart System / BES3 bikes.
Important: If your bike uses Bosch Smart System, you need the EBTsmart Unlock Key instead.
ABS note: The EBT Unlock Key does not support ABS-equipped bikes. If your e-bike has ABS, this is not the correct product. For compatible Bosch Smart System bikes with ABS, only the EBTsmart Unlock Key is relevant – and there only up to 32 km/h.

Important display behaviour
- Bosch Gen1: on supported Gen1 setups, display values remain correct.
- Bosch Gen2, Gen3 and Gen4 BES2: the display typically shows half the actual riding speed while riding. This is expected system behaviour and not a fault.
Not all Gen4 motors are the same – the charging port is the key
Bosch Gen4 exists in two different electronic system families. This is one of the most important compatibility checks before ordering:
Round charging port = BES2 → compatible with the EBT Unlock Key
Square charging port = BES3 / Bosch Smart System → not compatible with the EBT Unlock Key
If your Gen4 bike has a square charging port, it belongs to the Bosch Smart System family. In that case, please use the EBTsmart Unlock Key.
