How it works:

1. Power on your scooter and enable Bluetooth.
2. Open a Bluetooth-capable browser on your smartphone (iOS / Android).
3. Open your personal activation link from the order confirmation or:  https://www.mountaintuning.com/nbt
4. Connect to the scooter and enter your NBT Unlock Key.
5. Start the unlock — it usually takes under a minute.

After that, the tuning profile is stored on the scooter. You can always switch back to factory behavior at any time — you’re in full control.

Features

Two profiles, one scooter

Your scooter now has two clearly separated profiles:

• Stock Profile (factory / street configuration)
  This profile keeps all factory limits and behaves like an original, road-legal setup.
• Tuned Profile (performance / off-road configuration)
  This profile applies your custom speed limit, cruise control behavior, lighting behavior, etc.

Both profiles remember their own settings. That includes things you would normally only be able to change in the official Ninebot app — such as cruise control mode, daytime running light, etc. Now those settings are saved per profile instead of being global. That means your scooter can “feel” like two completely different machines depending on which profile is active.

On start-up, the scooter always boots safely in the stock profile first. You only activate the tuned profile manually using your custom button sequence / unlock combo. This prevents accidental high-power mode and keeps you in control.

New: Panic Button (Instant Stock Mode)

The new Panic Button function is designed for real-world situations.

• One press (or on certain models, one specific input gesture) immediately forces the scooter back to the original stock profile — live, without powering off the scooter and without any dramatic “lights out” reset.
• In tuned mode, that button acts as Panic.
• In stock mode, the same button keeps its normal factory function.

On GT3, which doesn’t have a freely assignable extra function button, the panic action is triggered via a specific wheel/steering input instead of a physical extra switch.

Result: you can run a high-performance off-road profile and still return to a calm, factory-looking configuration in a second if you need to. There is nothing comparable in traditional hardware chip tuning.

Cruise Control, per profile

Cruise control is no longer all-or-nothing. You can now decide separately for each profile whether cruise control should be active.

Example setup:

• Stock profile: cruise control off for maximum direct control.
• Tuned profile: cruise control on for relaxed long-distance cruising.

Even details like how cruise control is triggered (hold speed vs. indicator-based trigger on certain models) can now belong to the profile instead of being forced globally by the official app.

This means comfort when you want it — and discipline where you need it.

Lighting control built into tuning

For supported scooters, you can now manage lighting behavior directly in the tuning interface instead of only through the stock app. That includes, for example:

• GT3: light bar behavior
• ZT3: X-light behavior

This lets you link visual appearance to the active profile. Your tuned profile doesn’t just feel different — it looks different. Note: on some region-specific variants, cosmetic “dummy lights” are installed instead of functional lighting. On those units, lighting control has no effect.

Activation feedback (G3 beep)

On compatible G3 models, the scooter now gives an acoustic confirmation (short beep) right after the tuned profile is successfully activated. You instantly know you’re in performance mode without guessing or test-riding first.

Trace-ID Support & Reliability

The NBT Unlock Key platform now includes automatic Trace-ID error reporting:

• If anything goes wrong, the system generates a secure error report on the server.
• You get a Trace-ID instead of a tech dump.
• You just send us that Trace-ID — we can then fully reconstruct what happened (including license state and steps taken) and solve your case quickly.

Plus:

• Cruise control issues some riders saw after first install have been fixed.
• Model detection has been improved (for example, preventing the wrong firmware from being flashed to similar-looking models).
• Firmware integrity and protection have been hardened.

This is tuning that’s actually supportable.

Safety concept

By default, each time you power on the scooter it starts in restricted, factory-safe mode. You only unlock the tuned profile manually. This prevents accidental boost and makes sure you’re always the one deciding when performance mode is active.

You can also instantly fall back to stock mode through the Panic Button behavior described above. That gives you total control over when the scooter is in “full power” and when it looks and behaves factory-standard again.
